About Orvis & Friends

If Indiana had a soundtrack for the last 40 years, chances are Orvis Kirkman played on it. With roots in Bedford, Indiana, and decades of experience performing across the state, Orvis has shared the stage with acts like Frontline Band, The Nauti Yachtys, and currently The Flying Toasters — along with years of involvement in worship teams, most notably at Heartland Church. In other words… he’s been around a few stages (and probably knows the best places to get a late-night cheeseburger afterward).

Orvis & Friends brings music from the 50s through today, covering rock, country, R&B, classic and southern rock, pop, blues, and Top 40 — basically, if you can hum it, they can probably play it. The group is built to fit the room: from an intimate acoustic duo, to a trio with percussion, to a quartet with keys or bass, all the way up to a full four-piece electric band that can really light it up.

While you’ll find them performing at restaurants and pubs around Indianapolis and the surrounding areas, Orvis & Friends especially loves bringing the energy to private parties, corporate events, fundraisers, and charity functions. Big stage or backyard patio, black tie gala or laid-back celebration — they bring seasoned musicianship, great vibes, and just enough personality to keep it fun (without stealing the spotlight from your event).
